Allen Collins , is a Haitian American Contemporary Artist. Based in Atlanta. He has a BFA degree from Georgia State University.

Artist Statement

The concept behind my artwork, expresses Haitian heritage and the mystical nature of African Spirituality; Through the process of abstraction, gesture, figure and motion. I break down the world around us, and how the unseen interacts with the visible.

As a child, my Haitian heritage was expressed through Religion. Haitian Vodou is the world's most mysterious Religion. In the Western world, it's “Taboo” to speak about any foreign practice. My grandparents had Great knowledge in the Vodou tradition, and taught me the ways of the ancestors. I accepted their wisdom; I express this wisdom through abstraction in my artwork.
